Brighton Kite Festival

19 - 21 July 2002

Well, to be honest the dates were 20 - 21 July, but we arrived early. At the festival in Teston a few weeks previously we'd met up with some of the Brighton fliers who asked us to come down. So we did.

Looks peaceful, until the rabble wakes up.

"Majorettes" ?
.

Found the beer tent !

But disaster - it closed at 10pm

I've heard of stacking kites, but stacking buggies ??
Here's the girls with our new found kiting & drinking friends

There were a lot of dealers there - so things got bought.
The birthday girl with her first two stringed kite.

A new board, and a new bruise.
But the new kite flew well

"Someone" nearly got blatted, so to calm the nerves a new toy was bought.

Batman's new Blade, in use by "The Lunatic Fringe" demonstrating the dangers of people lifting, first safely with some of their own members, and then trying to kill the nice man from St John's Ambulance.
An excellent weekend away. New kites to buy, new friends to meet, good food, fireworks.....

Full marks to the organisers: Brighton Kite Fliers
