then
The Hobgoblin, The Thomas Becket,
The Riverside
Following a somewhat disturbed night's sleep
(can't think why!) it was somewhat disconcerting to find that the
planned train journey had been cancelled by the train company in
favour of a bus ride.
Managing not to upset too many of
the nice people with our sexy fluorescent scarf
we finally arrived at Planet Laser only half an hour late
.
.

Planet Laser's been done up since
we were last there - it can now take nearly sixty people at
once, and there are three teams, not two. Here we are
getting our gear and guns together.
With the low light and laser
beams flying, one feels like a fugitive from the Borg
Collective. Here "Last of Several" prepares to do
battle.
After two zap-ups we left - you can
get too much of a good thing and as everyone needed to go
shopping in Canterbury it was agreed we'd all split up and
meet up in an hour or so.

Some went to book shops, some
bought clothes. However it soon came apparent that the beer
wasn't buying itsself and so the WebMaster and Uncle
Kitewinder went to try the Hobgoblin. Good Stuff !
After four pints, most of the
shoppers had found their way to the pub and then we moved on
to the Thomas Becket - justly famous for the quality of food
and ale.
Here "El Presidente" sniffs his
armpits just in case.
Not wanting to miss the last bus
home we set off for Ashford about 9pm, and following a swift
pint or two in the Riverside, it was all back to Brian's for
more drinking. (hic !), before finally rolling into bed at
1am.
