Did anyone go to Rye bonfire parade?

We did.

Never again !

We got there early as per all the instructions & advice we'd heard. The plan was to get, park & eat before the parade. All the pubs that in the past did good food & were kid-friendly, now didn't & weren't.

So we shivered on the roadside with chips, waiting for the procession of one band and three floats.

Then down to the bonfire, to be constantly physically shoved out of the way by aggressive local middle aged women complaining that Rye bonfire was for locals only.

Then back to the car, only to find that some thug had systematically kicked the wing mirrors of all the cars in the car park.

And to think I'd persuaded over twenty friends to come to this, some travelling over fifty miles to get there.
